Saint Michael School is undergoing A major renovation
Several years ago, Saint Michael School sought bids from local contractors to install solar panels on the school roof.
With the installation of solar panels,
we will be able to provide electricity for the school, church, rectory and St. Brigid's Kitchen, and eliminate this significant expense from our operating budget over time.
Thanks to the generosity of an SMS alumna, the project is now coming to life:
During a visit to the school in 2019, this anonymous donor was so impressed by our students that they called the school later that day to pledge the funds needed to get the solar panel project off the ground! Their donation will help to cover the cost of the solar panels, but after consultation with an engineer, it was determined that the roof needs to be completely redone first.
This past year, Saint Michael School received several donations from the parish, Christ Our Hope capital campaign, and generous donors within the community to commence renovation of the roof. Supplies have arrived and the roof project will begin shortly.
If you are excited by this project, and looking to make an investment that will have long lasting impact here on Walnut Street, this initiative is for you.
Would you consider making a donation to help us cover the costs of completing our roof renovation and solar project?
